See Cheen Tee (1928 - 1996), master draughtsman, printmaker, painter, cartoonist and craftsman, is an outstanding Singapore artist and art educator. His woodblock prints and line drawings are acknowledged as among some of the best in the Singapore art world.

Cheen Tee was born in a village on the idyllic east coast of Peninsular Malaysia. The natural, serene beauty of the Malaysian landscape and his village experiences had a profound influence on his formative years and these were featured in many of his art pieces. In 1947, Cheen Tee moved to Singapore where he studied and later taught art at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts. He painted landscapes, genre scenes and mastered the art of the woodcut, producing many memorable woodblock prints in the 50s and 60s. After retiring in 1972, he devoted himself to painting and figure drawing.
